Manufacturing

To accelerate our journey toward first-time-right production, the Manufacturing group is at the forefront of driving innovative initiatives in the manufacturing sector. The group specializes in technologies such as: • Laser processes for e-mobility • Additive manufacturing: metal laser powder bed fusion, metal and ceramic binder jetting, Wire Arc technology, Direct Energy Deposition. These technologies are key to achieving high-performance, efficient production in advanced sectors such as aerospace, aeronautics and automotive. Our research focuses on leveraging data-driven approaches for real-time process monitoring and optimization. Leveraging advanced tools such as artificial intelligence enables us to enhance defect prediction and prevention, aiming for adaptive and smart manufacturing solutions. In this regard, advanced metrology plays a fundamental role, providing precise measurements and feedback to improve processes and products. A key component of our work is the development and application of digital twins that support our goal of modern manufacturing practices in the context of Industry 4.0. We maintain international collaborations with leading universities in Europe, the United States, and China, giving us a comprehensive view of the global research landscape in our fields.
