Rocchi Daniele

Full Professor

Full Professor of Applied Mechanics, his research activity is mainly focused on mechanical systems dynamics and particularly on the interaction of mechanical systems with wind (wind engineering).
He developed experimental approaches both at full scale and in the Politecnico di Milano wind tunnel, as well as numerical models and CFD studies.
Relevant contributions are disseminated through over 160 publications, on bridge aeroelasticity of long span bridges, high speed train aerodynamic interaction with infrastructures and people, vortex induced vibrations on cables, bridge decks, towers and buildings, cross wind effects on rail and road vehicles, noise and vibration propagation.
Dean of the PhD School, he is also the vice-rector for Technology Transfer and Corporate Relations.
