Egidio Di Gialleonardo graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 2007 and obtained his PhD in Mechanical Systems Engineering in 2011. During his PhD, he was a visiting PhD student at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). From 2015 to 2021, he was a Researcher at the Politecnico di Milano, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and since November 2022, he has been an Associate Professor.
His research interests include dynamics, vibrations, and control of mechanical systems, with applications in railway vehicle dynamics, train-track interaction, and diagnostics of vehicles and railway infrastructure. In these fields, he is the author of over 90 scientific publications, 35 of which are in peer-reviewed international journals. He has received several awards for his publications.
He also holds a patent for a disc brake monitoring system for vehicles.
