Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Comahue, Argentina (1996); M.Sc. (1998) and D.Sc. (2002) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Researcher at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2002–2006) and Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy (2007–2009). Adjunct Professor, at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2010–2020); Visiting Professor (2013–2017), and Associate Professor at Polytechnic University of Milan (2018–present). Experienced in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering with a focus on the fracture and fatigue properties of metals and alloys. Research includes fracture toughness of welded steel pipes for Oil and Gas, steels for flexible offshore pipes, and methods for toughness evaluation in environments and pressures simulating offshore conditions. Improving fracture toughness in additively manufactured metals is also a primary research interest.
