Francesco Ripamonti is an Associate Professor of Applied Mechanics at Politecnico di Milano's Department of Mechanical Engineering. He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2002 and completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Systems Engineering in 2006. He is currently teaching Applied Mechanics, Vibroacoustics, and Vehicle Acoustics. His research focuses on dynamics of mechanical system, smart structures, vibro- and aeroacoustics, NVH in vehicles, and cable dynamics. He coordinates the Cable Dynamics Laboratory, dedicated to studying the dynamics of overhead lines, and he is a member of the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration and the PoliMi Sound and Vibration Laboratory. He has participated in 5 funded research projects, published over 150 papers, and holds 13 patents.
