Full Professor
Giorgio Colombo is a Full Professor of Engineering Drawing and Methods at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1988 at Politecnico di Milano, worked as a researcher at the CNR ITIA Institute, and later as a university researcher in Applied Mechanics at the University of Parma. Since 2001, he has been at Politecnico di Milano, first as an Associate Professor and, since 2016, as a Full Professor. Since 2022, he has been the Coordinator of the Design&Engineering degree program. His research focuses on parametric CAD, KBE systems, virtual reality, physically-based modeling, virtual ergonomics, and product innovation. He has participated in several European projects (BRITE-FEMOD, FP6 Touch&Design, FP6 SATIN, FP7 LinkedDesign, FP7 ProRegio, 5G-TIMBER, RaRe2) and has collaborated with major companies (Pirelli Spa, B&H, Zoppas, Artsana, Cantoni Spa).
