Pietro Piazzolla is a senior researcher (RTDb) at the Department of Mechanics, Politecnico di Milano since 2022. His research activity concerns the uses of Augmented, Virtual or Mixed Reality for the study of methodologies and tools to support product development in different engineering fields. Recently, this activity has mainly focused on Industry 4.0 topics in the biomedical and healthcare sectors, elaborating and developing solutions to support urological, maxillofacial and pneumothoracic surgical practice. In 2022, he was awarded the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for the positions of Associate University Professor in Sector 09/A3 - industrial design, mechanical construction and metallurgy.
