Federico Morosi is an Assistant Professor (contract type A) in the department of Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano since May 2021. After he got his master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc.) from Politecnico di Milano in July 2016 with a thesis entitled “Development and Evaluation of a New Haptic Interface for the Coordinated Control of Earthmoving Machine”, he started his doctorate with fellowship in Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his Ph.D. from Politecnico di Milano in February 2020 defending the thesis “Projector-Based Spatial Augmented Reality for Collaborative Design Activities: Application and Interaction”. Before becoming Assistant Professor, he worked for more than a year as a post-doc research fellow at the Politecnico di Milano.
His research interests include the development and validation of augmented, virtual and mixed reality technologies as a support for design activities, with a particular focus to aspects related to collaboration, both remote and in-presence, and to the interaction between humans and computers. Thanks to his participation in an international research project (SPARK- SPatial Augmented Reality as a Key for co-creativity), he collaborated with several national and European companies to study the impact of these innovative methodologies and technologies for design in real application fields. The results of his research activities have been published in various scientific peer-reviewed publications on journals and international conference proceedings.
