Dr Frigerio obtained her MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2012 with a master thesis developed in collaboration with École Centrale de Paris (now CentraleSupélec), France. She obtained the title of PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2016 with a thesis focused on the energy efficient control of manufacturing systems. During her PhD, she collaborated with Purdue University, Indiana, USA, and with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, P.R. China. In 2016, she started a post-doc research fellow at the Manufacturing and Production Systems Research Line of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano and she is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (RTDa). Also, she collaborated with Consortium MUSP – Machine Tools and Production Systems, Piacenza, Italy. Her current research focuses on production system modeling and stochastic control with particular attention to control problems for improving energy efficiency of manufacturing equipment. She is a member of AITeM – Italian Association of Manufacturing Technologies and of IEEE - Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. She has effectively taken part in several national and international research projects as well as in industrial collaborations. She is one of the teaching assistants of Tecnologia Meccanica e Qualita’ course (BSc in Industrial Engineering) and of Integrated Manufacturing Systems course (MSc in Mechanical Engineering).
