Ivano La Paglia received his MSc and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano respectively in 2017 and 2022, discussing the thesis entitled "Rolling stock-based diagnostic system for condition monitoring of railway track geometry". Since February 2023, he is a Researcher (RTDA) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano, where he is involved in the field of condition monitoring of both railway infrastructure and rail vehicle dynamics. Activities focus on the development of monitoring techniques based on the adoption of sensors installed on-board the train, aimed at predictive maintenance of both infrastructure and vehicles. Other research activities include railway signalling (aimed at increasing transport capacity), structural dynamics (with specific reference to the dynamics of the rolling tyre), and the characterisation of railway vehicle suspensions (aimed at optimising passenger comfort). He is the author of several scientific articles published in journals or in proceedings of international congresses. Concerning the teaching activities, he has been an assistant in the master's degree courses "fundamentals of vibration analysis and vibroacoustics" and "mechanical system dynamics", and he has co-supervised several master's theses in Mechanical Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.
